Being from New York, Singapore was a place I definitely wanted to check out as I heard it had some similarities. Not to mention, being on an island for 2 months, I was kind of itching to get all dolled up and throw on some stilettos. Yup, I am a nomad traveling with two perrr ;) – Never leave home or a country without them. Lol.
My first three days in Bali, I had decided to venture out to a local club, La Favela, and ended up meeting a DJ who was on Holiday from Jakarta. He invited me to join him and his friends to a nightclub called, Mirrors, because their friend was spinning (Dj’ing for those who are not familiar. Lol). Fresh off the plane in Bali, of course I wanted to go! That night, I met some of the coolest guys I know, who were in Bali for a Bachelor party from Singapore. After chatting with them, I mentioned that I was going to be in Singapore soon and they insisted I reach out to them when I got into town……and so I did.
Here are some of my recommendations on Singapore influenced by some awesome locals that hold down the nightclub scene like no other!!!
If You Can’t Afford Raffles: My Top Boutique Hotel Picks
Lloyd’s is such a quaint place with contemporary and minimalist design, it’s so chic and the absolute epitome of boutique. I’m obsessed with their outdoor showers and beautiful outdoor pool that is perfect for relaxing.
This cute, 20-room boutique hotel is my absolute favorite! A little on the higher end (of course, I always like the more expensive everything) but what you get for your money is quite exceptional and well worth it (Prices start at around $200/ per night).
If you cannot afford to stay at Marina Bay Sands, this is the next best option. Stylish and in close proximity to the Marina and famous Raffles Hotel.
See & Do
Spend the day checking out the amazing Botanical Gardens. Could get lost for hours in this beautiful place.
Head to The Gardens at Marina Bay Sands - especially at night when it’s all lit up.
Check out Orchard Road for shopping, shopping, & more shopping.
Visit Arab Street. This little area of Singapore is so cute and full of little boutiques & Café’s. It’s like the “Brooklyn” of Singapore.
Chinatown was really cool. Seeing all of the old school Chinese pharmacies and authentic delicacies was super interesting.
Where to Eat, Drink, & Party
Singapore has got some pretty amazing food and so many choices. A couple of my favorites were:
The food was beyond amazing and a really good bar scene. I love a good ambiance and crowd.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Request to make it extra spicy if you like spice.
Clark Quay/ Boat Quay
Cool to walk around but also full of bars and restaurants near the water.
Lots of good places to check out on Arab Street, this place had a really cute outside area and live music.
The view from this bar is breathtaking, wear your heels ladies, you can then head over to the nightclub and dance into the wee hours!
This place gets going around 2am, but is an absolute blast!! Beware – drinks are NOT cheap in Singapore.
